About TechTalkTown
Too many reviews. Too little time. TechTalkTown distills the critical reception of consumer tech products into a single, transparent consensus score so you can make confident purchase decisions without reading dozens of reviews.
Who We Are
TechTalkTown was founded by Roshan Rahim, a tech enthusiast who got tired of reading 15 different reviews before buying a phone. The idea was simple: what if one place could show you what all the experts think, normalized into a single score you can trust?
Today, TechTalkTown covers 80+ products across 7 categories — smartphones, laptops, tablets, headphones, earbuds, monitors, and smartwatches — with synthesis reviews aggregated from publications like The Verge and CNET, YouTube creators like MKBHD and Dave2D, and real community discussions on Reddit.
Our Mission
The tech review landscape is fragmented. A phone might score 8/10 on The Verge, 92/100 on CNET, get a “thumbs up” from MKBHD, and see heated debate on Reddit. We normalize all of these into one Synthesis Score out of 10, with full attribution to every source.
How It Works
- Source Collection — We gather reviews from major publications (The Verge, CNET, Wired, Tom's Guide), trusted YouTube creators (MKBHD, Dave2D, Linus Tech Tips), and Reddit community threads.
- Score Normalization — Different publications use different scales. We normalize everything to a common 0–10 scale, weighting sources by depth and credibility.
- Consensus Mapping — We identify what reviewers agree on (strengths and weaknesses), where they disagree, and any deal-breakers flagged by multiple sources.
- Synthesis Writing — A human editorial synthesis ties it all together, presenting the consensus view with attributed data points.
Why Trust Us
- Full Attribution — Every data point links back to its original source. You can verify anything we write.
- No Product Samples — Unless explicitly stated, we do not receive products from manufacturers. Our value is in aggregation, not hands-on testing.
- Transparent Methodology — Our scoring methodology is documented in detail, including confidence indicators and freshness tracking.
- Affiliate Transparency — We earn from affiliate links (see our disclosure), but this never influences scores or editorial content.
Editorial Independence
TechTalkTown operates independently. No brand, manufacturer, or advertiser has input into our synthesis scores or editorial content. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions — we earn when you buy through our links, but our recommendations are based solely on the aggregated critical consensus.
Read our full Editorial Policy for more details.
Our Commitment
- Never accept payment for favorable coverage
- Always attribute every data point to its original source
- Clearly disclose all affiliate relationships
- Correct errors promptly and transparently
