These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TechTalkTown website at techtalktown.com (the “Site”), operated by TechTalkTown (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Description of Service

TechTalkTown is a tech review aggregation platform that synthesizes critical reception from major publications, YouTube creators, and Reddit communities into unified “Synthesis Reviews” with a consensus score for each product. The Site also provides product comparisons, rankings, buying guides, price tracking, and affiliate purchase links. The Service is provided free of charge to users.

2. User Accounts

You may create an account using GitHub OAuth via Supabase Auth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are inactive for an extended period. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@techtalktown.com.

3. User Conduct

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Site beyond normal browsing (including bots, spiders, or scrapers)
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Site's infrastructure or security
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, other accounts, or computer systems
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
• Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code

4. Intellectual Property

All synthesis reviews, Synthesis Scores, editorial content, site design, logos, and trademarks on TechTalkTown are our intellectual property or are used with permission. You may share links to our pages freely. However, you may not reproduce, modify, or distribute substantial portions of our content without prior written permission.

Third-party review content referenced in our synthesis reviews is attributed to its respective source and remains the intellectual property of those publishers. Our use of third-party scores and quotes is for the purpose of review aggregation and critical commentary under fair use principles.

5. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Merchants

Product links on the Site may be affiliate links. When you click on these links and make a purchase from a merchant (including Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Adorama, and Newegg), we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.

Transactions are solely between you and the merchant. We are not a party to any purchase and are not responsible for product quality, shipping, returns, refunds, or any disputes with merchants. Product pricing shown on the Site may not reflect real-time pricing on merchant websites.

6. Accuracy and Disclaimers

We strive for accuracy in our synthesis reviews, scores, and product information. However:

• Synthesis Scores represent aggregated critical opinion, not objective measurements.
• Product specifications, prices, and availability may change without notice.
• Unless explicitly stated, we have not physically tested the products reviewed.
• Source reviews may be updated by their publishers after our synthesis is created.

We update our reviews periodically but cannot guarantee that all information is current at all times. Always verify critical details with the manufacturer or merchant before purchase.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TECHTALKTOWN AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, which for free users is zero dollars ($0).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TechTalkTown and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.

10. DMCA and Copyright

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA notice to hello@techtalktown.com with:

• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Identification of the material on the Site that you claim is infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
• Your physical or electronic signature

We will respond to valid DMCA notices promptly.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days of written notice, either party may pursue binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Site at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

You may stop using the Site at any time. If you have an account, you may request deletion by contacting us.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, constitute the entire agreement between you and TechTalkTown regarding the use of the Site.
