Overall Synthesis
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 represents the most significant leap in Samsung's foldable lineup since the original Fold. A dramatic 26% thinner profile at just 8.9mm folded, a massive 8.0-inch inner display, a 200MP main camera borrowed from the S25 Ultra, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor combine to create what Engadget calls 'foldable nirvana.' At $2,000, it remains a premium investment, but the Z Fold 7 finally addresses the two biggest criticisms of previous generations: the thick, unwieldy form factor and the mediocre camera system. Battery life at 4,400mAh remains a concern given the large displays, and the loss of S Pen support will disappoint productivity enthusiasts, but the overall package represents the strongest case yet for foldable phones as the future of mobile computing.
